HUMANSERVE
has participated annually at the Just Christmas
(short for "Justice at Christmas")
international craft fair since 1994.
Just
Christmas is an alternative marketplace for
quality global indigenous arts and crafts and other goods obtained
through fair compensation to the producers. Market participants
are not-for-profit organizations whose primary mandate is philanthropic
and whose primary focus is global awareness.
In November 2006, Just
Christmas was held at the Prince of Wales Armouries - north of downtown Edmonton.
As usual, patrons of the sale were
intrigued with products from Lebanon and Palestine at HUMANSERVE's
table and much of our inventory was sold-out. Popular as always were the
hand painted pottery, hand blown glass, hand carved olivewood ornaments
& traditional Palestinian
embroidery.
Thanks to the quality of the
unique hand crafted products, HUMANSERVE
was able sell $3,893.00
worth of product at Just
Christmas 2006!
