END THE OCCUPATION RALLY |

 On
Saturday April 6th, 2002, Canadians
for Equality and Peace for Palestinians (CEPPal) held a rally
in Edmonton called "End the Occupation - End the
Violence". Over
500 Canadians peacefully marched down Whyte Avenue to the Farmer's Market
in Old Strathcona to demand an end to the illegal occupation of
Palestinian lands and to express hope for a just and peaceful
future. Money that was raised at the rally and during the following
two weeks was entrusted to Humanserve
and $6,263.32 CAN
was transferred over to the Palestine
Red Crescent Society to aid in
on-going emergency relief efforts necessitated by Israel's military
re-occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip that began in March 2002.
