HUMANSERVE
responded to an appeals made by the Badil
Resource Centre for Palestinian Residency & Refugee Rights
- based in Bethlehem. Badil runs a program called "SOS for
Refugee Camps" where they provide money for grassroots-based requests
that have been put forward by committees in the various refugee camps in
the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
HUMANSERVE
has provided $2,000
CDN in response to
Badil's requests.
The
on-going, intractable nature of the current Intifada and the difficult and
dangerous working conditions experienced by EMTs makes it extremely
difficult for the PRCS staff and volunteers to provide emergency care in
the field. To help make the job of applying first aid as efficient
and expedient as possible, the PRCS Emergency Medical Services has issued
a request for 250 specialized and highly functional EMT vests. These
vest are weather-proof and they have multi-pockets specific to first
aid/medical needs. The vests will also carry the insignia of the
PRCS for identification purposes.
HUMANSERVE
has provided $5,020
CDN in response to
PRCS's request and
this allowed for the purchase of approximately 53 EMT vests.
HUMANSERVE
would like to thank our friends in the community who have made donations
each year as zakat during the month
of Ramadan. Donations were forwarded to the
Social Welfare Department of the PRCS and used to purchase food hampers
for Ramadan meals for needy families suffering through the latest crisis
in Palestine.
