Objective:
Introduction
of the specialty of chiropractic to medical professionals in Palestine.
Specifically targeted to medical doctors and physiotherapists.
Goals:
 |
To
introduce a basic understanding of chiropractic and manual therapy in
the treatment and management of musculoskeletal pain and specifically
for low back pain
. |

To
provide participants with the skills to diagnose and treat basic low
back pain complaints.

 |
To
provide participants with the tools to recognize and differentiate
between low back complaints that will and will not respond to
chiropractic care.
|
Outcome:
 |
To
provide participants with a basic understanding of the history,
principles, and therapeutic benefit of chiropractic manipulation in
the management of low back pain.

 |
To
provide participants with the basic orthopedic skills to diagnose and
treat biomechanical dysfunction in the low back.
|
 |
To
train participants in the conservative management of low back pain to
assist in reducing dependence on prescription medication use and
surgical intervention.
|
 |
To
provide cost-effective management of the treatment of low back pain
including disc derangement, facet syndrome, sprain, and strains,
myofascial pain syndrome and other musculoskeletal syndromes and
injuries specific to the low back.

Methodology:
 |
Theory
training including biomechanics, physiology, kineseology, orthopedic
testing and differential diagnosis.
|
 | Lab
work including gait analysis, orthopedic testing and chiropractic
technique.
Chiropractic technique to include the mechanics of manipulation
and several methods of manipulation. |
