Randa El-Sharkawi
Randa
has
been a member of the board since it's inception in 1993 when this
society was the regional office of MAP.
Randa's fluency in Arabic and first-hand knowledge of Arab culture and
Palestinian society both in the occupied territories and the Palestinian
Diaspora have been important tools in this society's planning and
implementation of projects overseas. Randa has also played a key
role in managing HUMANSERVE's
participation in casinos run by the Alberta Gaming Commission and in all
our other fundraising ventures. Randa previously spent several
years as the treasurer of HUMANSERVE.
In March 2002, she spent a month representing HUMANSERVE
in the field in Lebanon.
Randa
is
a
Manager at Canada Post - Employee Relations. On several occasions, Randa
has worked in Palestine as a consultant in assisting the Palestinian
Authority in modernizing and further developing their postal system.
She represented Canada Post on an trip to Pakistan in the winter of
2000-2001.
